Former Witbank Spurs and Zimbabws national team coach Rahman Gumbo has died, it has emerged.
Rahman Gumbo died on Friday night in Botswana, where he was based. He was 59.
At the time of death, the former PSL mentor was unattached, having been dismissed by Morupele Wanderers three days ago.
Gumbo is said to have collapsed at his home in Palapye, Botswana on Thursday. He, however, passed on at a hospital in Francistown.
He rose to stardom in the 90s when he was playing for a trailblazing Highlanders class that included the legendary former Mamelodi Sundowns star Peter Ndlovu.
Gumbo was also a key player in the famed Zimbabwe Warriors team, better known as the Dream Team.
After retiring, he established himself as a coach in Zimbabwe, where he coached giants Highlanders, FC Platinum, Chicken Inn and TelOne.

In South Africa, he had a brief stint at Witbank Spurs from July 2018 to October 2018. He also had a brief coaching stint in Malawi.
In Botswana, he coached clubs that included Gaborone United, Sua Flamingoes, and Morupele Wanderers. This was his last gig.
At the national team level, he served as Zimbabwe’s national team coach and was at some point the assistant to Sunday Chidzambwa.
