AmaZulu FC have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Kenyan striker Moses Shumah from Zambian champions Power Dynamos, ending months of speculation over the prolific forward’s future.
Power Dynamos confirmed the transfer on Thursday, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable season in which the 23-year-old established himself as one of the most lethal strikers on the continent.
Usuthu beat Tanzania’s Azam FC and Morocco’s RS Berkane who were also chasing his signature. Shumah arrives in Durban on the back of a sensational 2025/26 campaign, having fired Power Dynamos to a successful MTN Super League title defence while finishing as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals.
He netted 23 goals in all competitions, earning widespread acclaim for his consistency in front of goal. His outstanding performances also saw him dominate the club’s end-of-season awards, where he completed a memorable hat-trick by winning the Top Scorer, Fans’ Player of the Season and Footballer of the Year accolades.

The move marks another significant step in Shumah’s incessant rise. He joined Dynamos from the Kenyan side Kakamega Homeboyz in July last year after finishing as the FKF Premier League’s leading scorer.
While there were questions over whether he could replicate that form outside Kenya, the striker answered them emphatically, quickly becoming one of the most feared forwards in Zambian football.
Despite still having a year remaining on his contract, Power Dynamos agreed to sell the striker after AmaZulu reached an agreement with the Zambian giants.

Power Dynamos Chief Executive Officer Gibson Chaloba paid tribute to the striker following the announcement.
“Moses had an excellent season for us, and his goals were a major reason for our success. He worked hard, remained focused and has earned this opportunity to take the next step in his career,” Chaloba said.
Shumah leaves Arthur Davies Stadium as one of the club’s biggest success stories in recent years. His goals not only inspired another league title but also elevated his status as one of Kenya’s finest football exports.
The Durban side will look to build on last season’s fourth-place finish. Having already secured Gape Moralo, Omega Mdaka and Khomotjo Lokoloane, the club is assembling a squad capable of challenging for a top-three finish.
