The DStv Premiership trio in the CAF club competitions failed to click the right gears in what turned out to be a frustrating weekend in the African safari.
Mamelodi Sundowns drew 0-0 with Pyramids in the CAF Champions League, while SuperSport United lost to Al Ahly Benghazi. Sekhukhune United drew 0-0 with Stade Malien at home.
First, Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a frustrating goalless draw at home by 10-man Pyramids FC in a CAF Champions League Group A encounter at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.
Masandawana are still top of the group on goal difference with all the teams on four points after three rounds of matches.
In the other match, FC Nouadhibou and TP Mazembe played to a goalless draw in Mauritania on Saturday in Group A.
And again, Rulani Mokwena cut a sombre figure as they have gone for two CAF Champions League matches without a win.
THREE DEFEATS IN A ROW FOR SUPERSPORT
On the other hand, the African safari is proving to be a rugged terrain for SuperSport United, who suffered their third successive defeat in the CAF Confederation Cup group phase.
They lost 2-1 to Al Ahly Benghazi of Libya on Sunday evening. Gavin Hunt’s men conceded as early as the 13th minute when Muetasimballlah Al Taeb beat goalkeeper Ricardo Goss from close range.

Gamphani Lungu levelled matters in the 58th minute, but Al Taeb dashed all hopes for salvaging a point when he completed his brace three minutes later.
That was all Al Ahly Benghazi needed to win over the Pretoria-based side, who also lost to Future FC and USM Alger.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United were also held to a 0-0 by Stade Malien in a pulsating match played on Sunday night.
