Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards have bolstered their attack with the signing of Zimbabwean striker Clive Augusto on a two-year deal. The former Maritzburg United forward, who impressed during training with the club, returns to South Africa after a stint with Chicken Inn in his homeland. Augusto previously made a name for himself by clinching the Golden Boot award in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, despite a mid-season transfer to Maritzburg United.

The former Warriors striker has been training with the Limpopo-based outfit since last month. In the 2019/20 season Chicken Inn sold Augusto to Maritzburg United, with the player signing a three-year deal with the Kwazulu Natal based side.

Despite leaving Chicken Inn mid-season, the forward was still able to win the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Golden boot award after scoring 14 goals. Clive Augusto failed to replicate the same form in South Africa and was offloaded by the Team Of Choice and ended up at the now defunct National First Division side Uthongathi.

Leopards, owned by David Thidiela, has set their sights on automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership and is actively pursuing additional reinforcements.
