DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United have made their eighth signing of this transfer window, adding a midfielder from Black Leopards.
Sekhukhune have been one of the busiest topflight teams in the transfer market, and they have now signed midfielder Matimu Tshabalala ahead of the new 2022/23 campaign.
The hard-running midfielder has joined the Limpopo Gauteng-based club as a free agent after his contract with Leopards expired at the end of last month.
This comes after Vhembe-based outfit finished bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship log standings last campaign and was subsequently relegated to the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League.
Sekhukhune United have strengthened their squad
An SN24 source told this publication that Sekhukhune United have further strengthened their squad by adding Tshabalala, who was also on the wanted list of Cape Town Spurs and Polokwane City.
The 28-year-old has been snapped up by Brandon Truter’s side following his impressive performances for Lidoda Duvha in the second tier of South African football.

The attack-minded player has impressed since his debut in the 2021/22 season. He featured in 11 games that season. But he’s not looked back since being a regular the following season (2022/23) season featured in all 30 league games.
‘Vruupha’, as he is affectionately known in football circles, is set to compete with the likes of Sibusiso Vilakazi, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Vusimuzi Mncube and Elias Mokwana for a place in midfield.
Babina Noko recently secured the services of Jamie Webber, Kgothatso Mariba, Washington Arubi, Tshepo Rikhotso, Renaldo Learner, Tiklas Thutlwa and Rally Bwalya.
After Sekhukhune made several new additions to their squad, the club will also be releasing a number of their players.
The Zambian duo of goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata and midfielder Roderick Kabwe left the club. Prince Nxumalo is also rumoured to be on his way out of the club.
The unveiling of new acquisitions ahead of the new season is set to take place by Sekhukhune in the coming days.
