Orlando Pirates confirmed on Wednesday evening that highly-rated midfielder Goodman Mosele has been sent out on loan to Chippa United for the 2023/24 season.
The decision by the club comes after the signing of Maritzburg United midfielder Karim Kamvuidi.
Mosele joins recently released Pirates wing-back Craig Martin to the Chilli Boys.
In a statement, Pirates said: “The Club can also confirm it has agreed a deal to send midfielder Goodman Mosele out on loan to Chippa United for the 2023/24 season.”
The loan move is an attempt by Mosele to get his career back on track after also failing to break into the Pirates team last season under coach Jose Riveiro.
Mosele only 11 appearances in the DStv Premiership, which is a far cry from his maiden season at the Soweto giants. He penned a deal with Pirates two years ago from Baroka. And in his first season at Bucs, he made 31 appearances.
The 23-year-old Mosele faces tough competition in the middle of the part at Pirates. The club recently confirmed that two of their experienced midfielders Ben Motshwari and Thabang Monare extended their stay. Riveiro preferred the duo ahead of Mosele.
In addition, Pirates have Miguel Timm, Makhehleni Makhaula and new signing Aubaas, making things hard Mosele.
With the deal to Chippa, Mosele will be looking to revive his career and work his way back to the Bafana Bafana squad ahead of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Ivory Coast.

Furthermore, the Buccaneers announced the arrival of Democratic Republic of Congo striker Karim Kimvuidi from Maritzburg United.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Maritzburg United for the services of Karim Kimvuidi,” reads the club statement.

The 21-year-old Kimvuidi, played in 29 of Maritzburg’s 30 DStv Premiership matches last season but his efforts were not enough to help the club Team of Choice avoid relegation.
He adds to the list of good signings Pirates have made in recent weeks including Katlego Otladisa, Melusi Buthelezi and Patrick Maswanganyi.
The club will be making a return to the CAF Champions League and they are eager to better their success from last campaign after winning the Nedbank Cup and MTN8.
They will start their new season in the league against Stellenbosch FC at Danie Craven Stadium on August 5.
