Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement with newly promoted Betway Premiership side Kruger United for the season-long loan of goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari. The move follows Chiefs’ decision that the Rwandan international needs regular first-team football after falling down the pecking order at Naturena ahead of the 2026/27 season.
This publication has been informed by a source with knowledge of the negotiations that the two clubs have agreed on the deal, with only the final administrative processes outstanding before the transfer is officially completed.
As a result, Ntwari was left behind when Amakhosi departed for their pre-season training camp in Spain, where new coach Fernando Da Cruz has begun preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Ntwari has had a challenging spell with Chiefs after managing only eight appearances in two seasons, conceding 11 goals and keeping only one clean sheet. A move to Kruger United offers him the chance to play consistently while remaining under contract with Chiefs until June 2028.
Last season, he only made one appearance in the Carling Knockout Cup.

WHY CHIEFS SANCTIONED NTWARI’S LOAN MOVE
Chiefs are not looking to part ways with the goalkeeper permanently. Instead, the club believes a season of consistent game time will help the 26-year-old regain confidence and sharpness after a frustrating campaign.
The arrival of Renaldo Leaner has further intensified competition in the goalkeeping department, with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma also remaining at the club. Academy graduate Bontle Molefe has also returned from a successful loan spell before signing a new long-term contract, leaving Ntwari’s opportunities limited.
Kruger United, meanwhile, will hope the experienced shot-stopper adds stability and quality as they prepare for their maiden season in the Betway Premiership.
For Ntwari, the move offers the chance to rebuild his reputation after an inconsistent spell at Chiefs following his arrival from TS Galaxy. The Soweto giants still believe the Rwandan has the ability to make an impact, which is why they have opted for a temporary move rather than a permanent exit.
