Kaizer Chiefs youngster Wandile Duba made a strong return to first-team action on Saturday, showing glimpses of potential in the 0-0 draw against Moroka Swallows.
The 19-year-old forward, who came through the club’s development ranks, impressed during his 35-minute cameo after replacing Ranga Chivaviro in the second half. He nearly scored but for a crucial save by Swallows goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.
“I was grateful to the coach for giving me a chance against Swallows,” Duba told the club’s official website. “It was exciting to be back in the Gold & Black. I’ve been working hard and the coaching staff has been encouraging.”
Duba has faced personal challenges in recent months, but he is thankful for the support of his family and friends who have helped him through this difficult time.
“It’s been tough since losing my mom last season,” Duba revealed. “But my family and friends have been there for me more than ever. They’ve become a source of guidance and support.”

“We are prepared for Arrows and ready to give everything,” Duba said. “We showed a good attitude against Swallows, and we need to carry that into the next two games. We know about the Derby, but we’re only focused on Arrows for now.”
