AmaZulu FC are reportedly looking to bolster their attack with Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants have been struggling to score goals since the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

In 12 DStv Premiership games, Usuthu have only managed to score nine goals while also conceding 10. They are in 11th place on the log standings with 15 points from three wins, six draws and three defeats. With the passing of Bonginkosi Ntuli, who lost his life due to lung cancer, AmaZulu are eager to reinforce their striking department, and they have identified Duba as the right man.

However, Usuthu still have three experienced forwards in their squad: Victor Letsoalo, Augustine Chidi Kwem and Junior Dion.

Kwem has four goals in 11 league appearances, while Dion has scored five games in all competitions. Letsoalo has not found the back of the net in six games.

In addition, Usuthu have two young strikers from the development structures in Lindani Shange and Msindisi Ndlovu.

AMAZULU FC PREPARES BID FOR CHIEFS STRIKER DUBA

With only three strikers in the team, AmaZulu FC are said to be preparing to launch a bid for Amakhosi’s Duba.

The 19-year-old striker joined Chiefs first team in 2022 after his impressive performances in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).

Wandile Duba is yet to feature for Chiefs this season and has been playing his football in the reserve side in the DDC. He has only made six appearances in the first team with no goals to his name.

According to reports, AmaZulu feel that they are thin upfront since the unfortunate death of Ntuli, and the coach (Pablo Franco Martin) is an admirer of young players.

Usuthu have made an inquiry about the availability of Duba, and it remains to be seen whether the young striker will leave Amakhosi for Usuthu. Meanwhile, Omega Mdaka has been training with AmaZulu FC after leaving Chiefs last month.
