DStv Premiership side Moroka Swallows are looking to secure the signature of Tshegofatso Mabasa on a permanent deal, SN24 can reveal.
Tshegofatso Mabasa is due to make his return to Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2023/24 campaign at the end of his loan spell.
However, a source close to Swallows’ management has revealed that the Beautiful Birds are looking at approaching the Sea Robbers for a permanent transfer for the 27-year-old.
The Dube Birds have scored 11 goals in their 10 DStv Premiership this season. Interestingly, six of those goals were scored by on loan forward Mabasa who appears to be enjoying playing under Swallows head coach Steve Komphela.
After struggling for game time at the Soweto giants in the 2021/22 season, Mabasa was sent on loan to Sekhukhune United for the 2022/23 season in search of regular game time.
His loan spell with Babina Noko did not set the DStv Premiership league alight, as he only scored two goals in his 18 appearances. He also contributed two assists last season.
Following his return to Pirates from Sekhukhune United, Mabasa has been sent on a second successive loan move as he is spending the rest of the 2023/24 season with Moroka Swallows.

WHY SWALLOWS WANT TO KEEP MABASA?
It is understood that Swallows head coach Steve Komphela and chairman David Mogoshoa are big fans of the striker’s quality. They are open to making ways to keep him permanently beyond the end of the current season.
Since joining the Mighty Buccaneers in 2019 from the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic, Mabasa has made 66 appearances with 18 goals to his name and an MTN8 trophy.
Maswaiswai are currently 5th on the DStv Premiership log standings after winning five, drawing three and losing twice. That run has seen them collect 18 points after 10 games played so far.
Komphela’s troops will host Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership clash when the league resumes after the FIFA break on Sunday 26 November 2023 at Dobsonville Stadium Stadium. Kick-off is 15:30.
