SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has kept his feet on the ground despite his men moving within two points of league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Hunt’s troops beat TS Galaxy 3-2 in a thrilling DStv Premiership game on Wednesday night at Mbombela Stadium.

Bradley Grobler’s late winner and Lyle Lakay’s two stunners secured the victory for SuperSport, with Higor Vidal and Lehlogonolo Mojela scoring for Galaxy.

But despite sealing back-to-back league wins, as they also won against Royal AM after the embarrassing 4-1 loss to Polokwane City in the Carling Knockout Cup, Hunt said it is important to remain focused on taking things one game at a time.

“Well, you enjoy the result because it’s a win away from home,” said Hunt after the game, as quoted by Idiski Times.

“But I didn’t enjoy the performance.“I think it’s unlike us to concede goals like that, but then the (refereeing decisions), it’s decisions I haven’t seen in a long time. The way (the game) was handled wasn’t good, you know. It is what it is, we won, and that’s the most important thing.”

Gavin Hunt, who has won four league titles, said he is more focused on getting the best possible teams on the field during the congested fixture schedule than moving closer to Sundowns, despite having played two more games.

Matsatsantsa will take on Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City within four days before the FIFA International Break provides some respite ahead of their trip to Egypt to face Future FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“I’m not worried about that (being two points behind Sundowns). We just have to try with what we’ve got and what we’re achieving. We’re limping,” added Hunt. “So we have so many players out, again we’ve lost three left-backs now, so I don’t know.”
