DStv Premiership side TS Galaxy have parted ways with midfielder Lefa Hlongwane, the player has confirmed on his social media platforms.

The former Black Leopards player is a free agent after he and TS Galaxy terminated the contract by mutual consent.

This comes after the Gauteng-born player failed to cement his place under the German mentor Sead Ramovic, who has barely featured for the club this season. In the 2023/24 season, the player featured in only three league games. He played 20 PSL matches last season for TS Galaxy.

The last league match that the influential player Hlongwane played came on August 27, 2023, for TS Galaxy versus Royal AM during a 1-0 loss.

Galaxy head coach Ramovic has relied mainly on Lindokuhle Mbatha in the left winger position. The duo of Lehlohonolo Majola and Sphiwe Mahlangu were seemingly ahead of Hlongwane in the pecking order this season.

The early termination of the contract follows weeks of discussion and process between the two parties. Hlongwane’s contract with the Mpumalanga-based outfit was due to expire at the end of the current season.

The talented attacking midfielder joined Galaxy as a free agent after he ended his relationship with KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit Maritzburg United. He left the club after 12 appearances under Ernst Midderndorp.

The 30-year-old left the Team Of Choice following his controversial off-field issues. Sdumo’s talent is without doubt , and many are sure that a player of his capabilities will find a club in the PSL.

He has played in most PSL matches in the 2018/19 campaign for Black Leopards, making 26 appearances across 30 fixtures.

Hlongwane has been linked with a few PSL clubs, including Moroka Swallows, Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City. He has previously also played for Jomo Cosmos and Royal Eagles, among other clubs.
