TS Galaxy manager Sead Ramovic believes that Given Msimango, his former captain at the club, will fight to regain his place in the Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up.
Ramovic’s remarks come after Msimango was relegated to the bench in Chiefs’ last two games before the FIFA international break.
The highly-rated defender did not feature in Amakhosi’s 1-0 loss to Cape Town City in the last week. He was already benched in the previous match against Sekhukhune United.
And Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki was probed about Msimango’s absence; he stated that the 26-year-old was benched to avoid fatigue and injuries.
However, some have questioned the timing of the decision, given that the international break was imminent.
Msimango had not missed a match since December 2021 until he was benched against Babina Noko. His former coach at Galaxy, Ramovic, has backed the defender to show character and fight for his place at the Soweto giants.
RAMOVIC BELIEVES IN MSIMANGO’S ABILITY TO BOUNCE BACK
“In life and just in soccer, it’s not always that the sun shines,” said Ramovic at the Carling Knockout Cup launch in Johannesburg.
“Sometimes the rain comes, but like I know Given, he is a hard-working guy, professional and disciplined. I will absolutely not be surprised that he will bounce back again and become stronger than he was.

“He is a fantastic player, and yes, Chiefs has a lot of great players; it’s not easy, so you have to fight for your place, and I think he has the character to bounce back absolutely.”
Given Msimango has played in 11 games in all competitions since joining Chiefs at the start of the current season.
He had formed a solid partnership with the other new arrival, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, until coach Ntseki opted to throw in Njabulo Ngcobo to play alongside ‘TT’.
