Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau said the club will be seeking revenge against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final this weekend.

Bafana Ba Style will battle it out with the Buccaneers in the MTN8 final match on Saturday, 7 October at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The game will start at 18:00. Last season, Pirates progressed to the final of the MTN8 after defeating the Tshwane giants 3-0 in the second leg of the tournament’s semi-final at the New Peter Mokaba in Polokwane. The first leg had ended goalless.

A goal from Kermit Erasmus and Monnapule Saleng’s brace was enough to earn Pirates a spot in the finals. The Soweto giants went on to beat AmaZulu 1-0 in the final.

The Bafana Bafana international, Mudau, revealed that his side will not be seeking “revenge”. However, the player reckons that they will be looking to make a more positive impact in the final clash and hopes they get fruitful results on the day.

“No [no revenge], we are just taking every game normally. It’s not all about revenge,” said the 28-year-old right-back.

“I think it’s going to be a very interesting game, to be honest, because they are the defending champions. Obviously, they want to make sure that they win the cup. “As the coach has said, we are ready and prepared. We just want to make sure that we come back with the trophy.”

Last season, the talented defender was very instrumental for the Brazilians. He featured in 39 games across all competitions, contributing two goals and weighed in with an assist in the process.

In the current campaign, Mudau has played in eight games for the Rulani Mokwena-coached side. With Mudau’s extensive experience of the beautiful game, he will be expected to help his side achieve its ultimate goal of winning the MTN8 trophy.
