Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has unapologetically said that Kaizer Chiefs players are not good enough to represent the national team, which is why none of them were selected in his latest squad.
Broos announced his 23-man squad set to do battle with Namibia and DR Congo in international friendlies. Both games will be staged in Soweto at Orlando Stadium .
The encounters will be vital for the Bafana coach to prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In the preliminary squad, Broos had named four Chiefs players: Pule Mmodi, Brandon Petersen, Given Msimango, and Sifiso Hlanti. However, they all failed to make the final squad. Broos said that Chiefs have not improved, stating that they are still in the same place as last season.
The Soweto giants have been struggling in the last few years. They have failed to win a trophy in the last eight seasons.
In the new campaign with new signings and a new coach, Molefi Ntseki, Amakhosi have had a poor start with a single win in the league in their opening four games.
