Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has named an Amakhosi star who’s proving to be a bargain for the club.
Molefi Ntseki has overseen three official matches so far as head coach of the Soweto giants. The former Bafana Bafana coach can already see the influential places in his squad.
NTSEKI THINKS DU PREEZ IS A BARGAIN
He has since named Ashley Du Preez as the player who is proving to be a trump card for the club. “I think he’s not yet at 80% because he got injured last season against Cape Town City,” Ntseki said on Sunday.
This was after Du Preez had scored the equaliser against City at Athlone Stadium as they went on to win 2-1 to book a semi-final berth in the MTN8 Cup. “And he did not have a full pre-season with us… If we are talking of him being 70%, 80%, just think of Ash being 100%.”
“And I think it was the best acquisition that we got to the club because we are fully aware of his qualities, and he’s paying it back in terms of getting goals for the club.”
Du Preez has quickly established himself as one of the most important players in the Chiefs squad, and his performances have already justified the club’s decision to sign him for a reported R10 million.

DU PREEZ’S PACE AND TRICKERY
The 26-year-old forward joined Kaizer Chiefs from Stellenbosch in 2022, and he has since scored 11 goals in 35 appearances for the club.
He has also been a key player for the club, scoring two goals in their last three games. Du Preez’s pace and trickery have been a nightmare for defenders, and he has also shown a good eye for goal.
He is also a hard worker and is always willing to track back and help out his teammates. Du Preez’s signing has been a major coup for Chiefs, and he is sure to be a key player for the club for many years to come.
