With just six games before the end of the season, Kaizer Chiefs coach has named two targets for the DStv Premiership 2022/23 term.

Chiefs have won four games on the trot and will be looking to make it six when they face bottom-placed Marumo Gallants.

In troubled Gallants, they host a team that is in danger of relegation and will be out to get maximum points.

The two sides clash on Saturday, 8 April 2023, at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Zwane says it is important for Amakhosi to continue where we left off.

KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING

“We obviously want to keep the momentum going,” he said, adding that winning five games on the trot had been “good for us in keeping the morale high in the squad”.

Zwane further told the club’s website that they were intending to “make winning our habit”.

“We are on the right track and will take it one game at a time,” added the former Chiefs winger.

He admits that they will have to keep the group physically and mentally ready to compete if they are to reach their targets.

In the build-up to the Stellenbosch FC game, which they won 2-1, they had one-on-one sessions to help players see where they are in terms of fitness. The idea was also to help those who are a little left behind.

ARTHUR ZWANE NAMES TWO TARGETS

‘10111’ then spelt out his two targets going into the remainder of the season.

“It’s getting towards the end of the season now, but there are a lot of games at hand, and there is a lot at stake.

“We are getting there, steadily but surely, for the sake that we are eyeing that second spot and stand a good chance of going all the way to the final (of the Nedbank Cup) and winning it.

“We remain positive and optimistic that we are getting things right and can keep on getting the results,” he said.

Chiefs will have to tussle with neighbours Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United for a second-place finish.

All three clubs are on 40 points, having played 24 games. They trail newly crowned Mamelodi Sundowns by 19 points.
