Kaizer Chiefs target Nasreddine Nabi doesn’t have much time to decide on his future as his current club Young Africa; Yanga SC have given him an ultimatum.
Nabi will be out of contract at Yanga in July as he penned an 18-month deal with the club in 2021 and the Tunisian coach is yet to commit to a new deal. He joined the club from Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh.
The coach is seemingly weighing his options as SA football giants Chiefs recently enquired about his availability.
And as reported by SoccerNews24, Chiefs’ management including Bobby Motaung and Kaizer Jr recently held a virtual meeting with Nabi to get an understanding of the coach’s philosophy among other things.
Nasreddine Nabi led Yanga SC to the 2022/23 Tanzanian Premier League title and reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup, where they suffered a defeat to USM Alger over two legs.
The Amakhosi management is eager to bolster the technical team as they look for a suitable coach to lead the club back to its glory days following a dismal 2022/23 season under the guidance of Arthur Zwane.
In the first year of his three-year contract at Chiefs, Zwane led the club to a disappointing fifth-place finish in the DStv Premiership and failed to qualify for the CAF inter-club competition with the club extending its trophy draught to eight years.
“Yanga SC gave coach Nabi an ultimatum as they want to start preparations for the new season as soon as possible,” said the SoccerNews24 insider.

“Nabi only has until June the 15th to decide whether he wants to stay at Yanga or leave. He is a good coach and the president Hersi Ally Said likes him but he wants someone committed to the club.
“And coincidentally, Nabi is set to meet with the Chiefs hierarchy on the same week Yanga wants Nabi to decide on his future at the club,” added the informant.
