Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo has revealed he will stay and fight for his place at the club, despite struggling to get game time in the last two seasons.
Ngcobo joined Amakhosi in 2020 after being named PSL Defender of the Season at AmaZulu. He has since been limited to just 17 appearances in all competitions.
The arrival of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango in the January transfer window is likely to further reduce Ngcobo’s chances of playing, but the 27-year-old has vowed to fight for his place.
What is the latest on defender Njabulo Ngcobo
“There’s no latest on Njabulo [Ngcobo], he is left with one year, and his contract expires next year [June 2024]. He’s staying, and he will fight for his position,” Knowledge Sports spokesperson Mpendulo Nyuswa told FARPost.
“If he gets the chance, he’s willing to fight for his position. He hasn’t given us any instruction to look for a new club.”

Nyuswa added that if any team comes forward with a proposal to take Ngcobo on loan or sign him, they would engage Chiefs.
“We’re not saying that if an opportunity comes by, we will say no,” he said.
Ngcobo is not new to being sidelined, having also struggled for game time at Swallows earlier in his career.
“He’s been through that before. This is not the first time. He believes he wants to fight.”
