Bafana Bafana striker Fagrie Lakay was on target for Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday night, while his compatriot Percy Tau also delivered a solid showing.

Fagrie Lakay scored the winning goal for his side as they bagged a crucial 2-1 victory over Al Ittihad at the Alexandria Stadium to close the gap on runaway leaders Ahly momentarily.

The former Cape Town City forward has endured an indifferent season with Pyramids, with injuries not helping his progress.

FAGRIE LAKAY’S SEASON SO FAR

Fagrie Lakay has not been able to deliver consistent performances this season and has been in and out of the team.

His inconsistency has also resulted in him missing out on Bafana Bafana’s selection for the last few matches, with coach Hugo Broos opting for players on form.

Fagrie Lakay seems determined to regain his spot in Broos’ squad, having also missed out on the most recent squad to face Morocco.

Meanwhile, Lakay’s compatriot Tau continues to deliver solid performances to Egyptian giants Al Ahly in all competitions this season.

Tai has been one of the key players for the Red Devils this season, with his fine form helping Ahly reach the final of the CAF Champions League, where they will face defending champions  Wydad Athletic.

PERCY TAU DELIVERS ANOTHER SOLID PERFORMANCE

Tau has also been influential in the league, where Ahly look set to clinch the title comfortably as they currently sit pretty at the top of the standings with 62 points from 24 matches.
