Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly been impressed by a star they loaned out and want him back at Chloorkop.

Sundowns are known for signing players and loaning them out to get game time in other clubs. A Sundowns star currently on loan at SuperSport United has done enough to warrant a return to his mother club.

Interestingly, Grant Margeman had signed a rare “two-year” loan spell with SuperSport United. It has emerged that the agreement is a season-long loan with a one-year option to extend.

GRANT MAGERMAN HAS IMPRESSED GAVIN HUNT

Gavin Hunt would have been impressed by the former Ajax Cape Town star. The veteran mentor has fielded him 20 times this season.

In his 20 appearances for the club, the 24-year-old has scored twice. He has also provided two assists from his central midfield position.

His agent Ntobatsi Masegela of Footballerz Sports Marketing, said he is aware of talk of his player returning to Chloorkop.

That said, he told FARPost that at the end of the season, the two clubs would discuss whether SuperSport United would add another year to his stay with them. He, however, insists the idea for them is to have the play get regular game time.

ONE YEAR OPTION

“It’s one year and an option if SuperSport wants to keep him,” Masegela was quoted as saying.
“He truly is doing what he has to be doing. Everything is left to the two clubs to discuss what’s happening.

“The most important thing is we want to see Grant playing week in and week out. [The idea is] bettering his chances of playing in Bafana. In essence, that’s the most important thing,” he said.

At Sundowns, he will face some stiff competition. Sundowns have Teboho Mokoena, Sphelele Mkhulise, Marcelo Allende, Bradley Ralani, Lesedi Kapinga, Lebo Maboe and Haashim Domingo.

Margeman signed for SuperSport with two other Downs teammates, Thabang Sibanyoni and Ricardo Goss.
