Dino Ndlovu reportedly turned down an R300k per month contract that would have brought him back to the DStv Premiership in January.
At the end of 2022, Ndlovu was out of contract overseas, attracting the interest of several local teams.
Reports linked him to Kaizer Chiefs, who were said to be considering swooping on the former Bafana Bafana star valued at R7 MILLION.
Chiefs were searching for a forward, having conducted trials that eventually saw them sign Congolese forward Christian Saile.
Ndlovu was one of the options alongside Fiston Mayele, Amanuel Gebremichael, Balint Bajner and Boris Kopitovic.
The 33-year-old former Bafana star was also on the radar of TS Galaxy, who were said to be willing to dig deep into their pockets for the left-footed centre forward.
However, it was Royal AM that he came close to joining with a monthly salary of R300k proposed.
“Royal AM came very close to signing Dino Ndlovu, and they had offered him a monthly salary of R300 000. But he ended up opting to stay overseas where he earns above that,” a source told SN24.
The well-travelled forward ended up joining Turkish second-tier side Boluspor and has had a decent start to life there.
He has scored four goals in just eight appearances this season after leaving Chinese outfit Changchun Yatai at the beginning of the year.
He is in his second spell in Turkey, having previously spent a year playing for Kocaelispor, scoring nine goals in 15 appearances.
Ndlovu is now hoping for more success in Turkey in the famous red and white of Boluspor, who are currently eighth in the TFF 1 League standings.
The club was the Klerksdorp-born star’s 12th overseas, having had stints in China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Cyprus and Israel.
At home, he played for Mpumalanga Black Aces, SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic.
