An SN24 source has revealed that AmaZulu are set to extend the contract of midfielder Ben Motshwari, who has become a key player for Pablo Franco Martin’s side this season.
Motshwari joined Usuthu on a one-year deal at the start of the 2023/24 campaign after struggling for regular game time at Orlando Pirates under Jose Riveiro. He found himself behind the likes of Thabang Monare and Miquel Timm in the pecking order, making only 14 appearances for the Buccaneers last season.
However, AmaZulu saw his potential and offered him a contract with an option to extend for another year. Now, impressed by his contributions, the KwaZulu-Natal club are keen to exercise that option and keep Motshwari until June 2025.
His experience and impact in midfield have been valuable, and Usuthu believe he can continue to play a key role alongside Celimpilo Ngema, Ethan Brooks, and Hendrick Ekstein.

BEN MOTSHWARI ENJOYING HIS FOOTBALL
The Randfontein-born player, enjoying regular football again, is reportedly happy at AmaZulu and open to extending his stay. His positive impression on the technical team has made his contract extension a near certainty.
Motshwari, a tough-tackling midfielder, arrived at Orlando Pirates in 2018 from Bidvest Wits and went on to make over 130 appearances, winning the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup during his time there. He also played a significant role in the 2020/21 season, featuring in 27 of the 30 PSL matches.
