AmaZulu FC striker Victor Letsoalo’s future at the club is uncertain after a disappointing start to the season, with sources close to the team suggesting he could be loaned out or even released.

Letsoalo joined AmaZulu at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign from Sekhukhune United, but has struggled to replicate the form that saw him score 16 goals in all competitions for Royal AM last season.

The 30-year-old has yet to find the back of the net in seven league appearances for Usuthu, and the technical team is reportedly unhappy with his lack of goals.

REASONS FOR LETSOALO’S POTENTIAL EXIT

Victor Letsoalo’s failure to score has been a major concern for AmaZulu, especially considering his reputation as a prolific striker. There are other players who are performing better than Letsoalo in the attacking department, putting his place in the starting lineup at risk.

AmaZulu are reportedly interested in signing Dynamo Douala striker Lionel Christian Ateba, which could further jeopardise Letsoalo’s future at the club.

“AmaZulu have been following the Cameroonian forward, Ateba, but Young Africans are also chasing him. But they’re also chasing two other options, with one coming from overseas,” the source said.

Despite his struggles, Letsoalo still has a two-year contract with AmaZulu. Whether he will be given the opportunity to turn things around or be shown the door remains to be seen.

He joined the Durban side at the start of the season after a short-term stint at Sekhukhune United. He had joined Babina Noko from Royal AM at the start of the season.

His move to Usuthu saw Rally Bwalya switching the other direction. The Zambian has also struggled to settle in at Sekhukhune United and risks being shipped out in January.

He has failed to reproduce the form that made him a household name in Tanzania.
