Mamelodi Sundowns legend Daniel”Mambush” Mudau has urged Peter Shalulile to rewrite Premier Soccer League (PSL) scoring history.
Shalulile has been on fire since joining Sundowns in 2020 along with Mothobi Mvala from Highlands Park.
In the current season, Shalulile has maintained his consistency in front of goal as he has scored 14 goals in 19 games in all competitions, including in the CAF Champions and inaugural African Football League (AFL), which Sundowns won.
The Namibian striker etched his name further into PSL history on Wednesday night, firing home a late goal in Sundowns’ 3-0 win over Cape Town Spurs in a DStv Premiership game.
With his 111 goal in the PSL, Shalulile climbed to second place on SA’s topflight’s all-time top scorers’ list and surpassed former Mamelodi Sundowns hitman Mudau, who is on 110.
The 30-year-old striker; Shalulile now sits just behind the legendary Siyabonga Nomvete, who boasts a staggering 123 goals. Daniel Mudau, who is also a former Sundowns captain believes that Shalulile has the talent and determination to break Nomvete the record and become the all-time PSL top scorer.

“I am happy for him, I always knew he had the potential to score lots of goals to make Sundowns fans happy,” said Daniel Mudau.
“I said a few seasons ago he would surpass me. “And I said this because of what I saw in him as a lethal goalscorer. I was proud to have this milestone for the club but I am happy he has surpassed me because records are meant to be broken.
“I know he has worked hard to be where he is and I believe he can go for Nomvete’s record. He will tell you I have been encouraging him to go work harder at his game and I am proud of him.”
