Mamelodi Sundowns, known for pouncing on SuperSport United’s top players, are at it again, courting another Mantsantsantsa man.

The defending South African champions are reportedly inching closer to lure 

SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge team manager and academy administrator to Chloorkop.

Muziwakhe Dladla is credited for his influence in SuperSport’s youth structure. The Tshwane side has a strong commitment to youth development and has a well-established academy.

Dladla looks set to join the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy as the club looks to strengthen its structures. 

The veteran administrator has spent 16 years at the Spartans and could prove a great addition to the Downs Academy management team. 

Dladla has a wealth of youth development experience and a proven track record of success. He has also worked with the youth national teams. 

In his position, he worked with the likes of Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena and Sipho Mbule, who are all at Sundowns.

“He’s quite excited about the possibility of joining the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy,” said a source. “He’s looking forward to working with the talented young players at the club and helping them reach their full potential.”

Dladla would be a valuable asset to the club. He is a highly experienced and respected administrator and would be a great addition to the team.

Sundowns’ sporting director, Flemming Berg, has previously expressed confidence that the club’s academy is on the right track. He has also stressed the need to strengthen the structures continually.

“I’m thrilled with the way Mamelodi Sundowns have prioritised youth football development. Our Diski team has been impressive…. The impressive performances of the youngsters further show that we’re on the right track,” Berg told the Sundowns magazine recently.

The Brazilians’ academy is one of the most prestigious in South Africa and has a reputation for producing top-quality players. Dladla’s appointment would be a significant coup for the club and will help them continue developing world-class talent.

Sundowns has a full-time residential academy, and many of its academy graduates go on to play professional football.
