Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies coach Jerry Tshabalala has credited the club’s success to the vision of the previous club president, Patrice Motsepe.

According to Jerry Tshabalala it was always Motsepe’s plan to see Sundowns compete and dominate domestic and African football.

Motsepe, who is now the CAF president with his son Thlopie Motsepe running things at Sundowns invested in the club’s infrastructure] and youth development.

He set high standards for both the men’s and women’s teams. And under Motsepe’s leadership, Sundowns have become a dominant force in South African football and they are making make good strides in their pursuit of dominating African football.

On the domestic scene, Sundowns have won the DStv Premiership title six times in a row, while also clinching several cup competitions such as the Nedbank Cup and MT8.

They recently lifted the inaugural African Football League (AFL) after beating Wydad Casablanca in the final.

SUNDOWNS WINNING CULTURE ROOTED IN MOTSEPE’S AMBITION, SAYS TSHABALALA  

On the ladies’ side, Sundowns have been winning the Super League title ever since it was formed and dominating African football.

At the weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were crowned winners of the Champions League for the second time in three times “At Sundowns, we must always win, we don’t have room for losing Cup (finals),” said Tshabalala.

“When I go back to the previous president of Sundowns (Patrice Motsepe), when he bought this club he said he wanted to see the vision of Sundowns dominating Africa.“So I believe everyone at Chloorkop we share the same vision of the previous president, in terms of trying to dominate Africa.

“So, that thing pushes us as employees of Sundowns to keep on working as hard as we can so that we can achieve the goal of our previous president and the current chairman to say we want to dominate Africa, that is what is pushing us.”
