Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a Kaizer Chiefs trio in his 44-member preliminary squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Bafana kick off their 2026 qualifying campaign against Benin and Rwanda in November.
South Africa will welcome Benin at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the weekend of 17 to 19 November 2023. They will then travel to Huye to face Rwanda on Tuesday 21 November 2023.
The team gathers for camp at the University of Pretoria on Monday 13 November 2023 and travel to Durban on 16 November 2023. After playing Benin in the coastal city, they will make a trip to Rwanda on 19 November 2023 and return to South Africa on 22 November.
The preliminary squad will be trimmed to 23 players in the coming days when Broos announces his final list for the two matches.

He has named three Chiefs players, the highest number he has ever called in recent times.
The DStv Premiership giants have been struggling for form this season. But there is a place for Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Given Msimango and Sifiso Hlanti.

This time around, there is no place for Mduduzi Mdantsane who had a run against Eswatini.
Broos has previously vowed he would not call Amakhosi players due to the team’s recent struggles.
In form Polokwane City forward Oswin Appollis has earned the deserved call up. Tshepang Moremi and Elias Mokwana of AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United respectively are new comers in Bafana.
