Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter is confident ahead of their clash against Kaizer Chiefs, stating that he doesn’t remember losing to the Soweto giants.

A wounded Amakhosi side will host Sekhukhune at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in a DStv Premiership clash this evening (19:30).

Chiefs are still smarting from Saturday’s MTN8 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns as they ponder how to bounce back.

However, it won’t be easy as they come up against Truter, a coach who has never suffered a defeat against them since he started coaching in the Premiership.

Brandon Truter took four points off Chiefs in his first season in SA’s topflight while at Swallows FC. While at AmaZulu, he faced Amakhosi twice and drew on both occasions. Last season at Sekhuhune, Truter completed a league double over the Glamour Boys.

His unbeaten record against Chiefs has him brimming with confidence and expecting victory in Durban.

TRUTER LOOKING TO INFLICT MORE MISERY ON CHIEFS

“I can’t remember Chiefs beating me, and with our records in KZN, I think they looked at that and decided to bring it there [Durban],” said Truter.

“Chiefs lost (to SuperSport United and the MTN8 second leg semi-final to Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend), it’s a big one. They have signed big players, and big players come with big expectations, so the pressure just grows there.

“For any other team that plays against Chiefs, the motivation in itself is there for the players. Yes, we will prepare, but that is one for the players,” added Truter.

Chiefs head into the Sekhukhune encounter winless in their last four matches in all competitions. The Soweto giants are eight on the DStv Premiership with eight points after seven games.

On the other hand, Babina Noko are in a four-game unbeaten run. They are fifth on the log with 10 points after six games.
