Former Maritzburg United midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase is awaiting a decision regarding his potential signing after training with AmaZulu FC.
Following his surprise exit from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka at the end of last season, Phumlani Ntshangase has yet to find a new club.
Having previously trained with Maritzburg United, the former Bidvest Wits midfielder resurfaced at Kwazulu Natal-based side AmaZulu hoping to get a contract to revive his career.
SANDILE ZUNGU CLUB OPEN TO SIGNINGS
The Sandile Zungu-owned club is open to signing Ntshangase as a replacement for Makhahleni Makhaula, who was sold to Orlando Pirates in January, according to a source close to the club.
Having appointed Martin as the new head coach for the 2023/24 campaign, the Durban outfit has gone big in the transfer window. They have recruited seven new players, including former Orlando Pirates defender Wayde Jooste and ex-Sekhukhune United striker Victor Letsoalo.
Meanwhile, Kenya international striker Vincent Oburu is now on assessment at AmaZulu, and a source indicates that he is impressed with the technical team.
The 25-year-old is earmarked as a potential replacement for Yakhouba Gnagna Barry of Horoya AC, whose transfer to Usuthu collapsed due to a knee issue.
Oburu, known for his speed, technical ability and clinical finishing, could be the missing piece in the AmaZulu puzzle.

However, any potential move will be determined by the asking fee of the Zambian giants Zesco United and his upcoming medical tests. Oburu still has two years remaining on his contract with the Ndola-based side.
In other news, Niger forward Victorien Adebayor has finally received his South African visa and paperwork, and his unveiling will likely occur this week upon his arrival.
AmaZulu currently finds themselves in the 14th position on the Dstv Premiership log standings, having accumulated six points from their first five matches. Their next game is against Cape Town City on the 17th of September at the Moses Mabhida Stadium Kick-off at 17h30.
