Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila has challenged the big South African Premier League (PSL) teams to come and play his team after they drew with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The Chilli Boys held Chiefs to a goalless draw away from home and came back from behind to draw 1-1 with Pirates on Tuesday in Gqeberha.
The opening two matches of the DStv Premiership campaign have served the perennial strugglers, Chippa, two Soweto giants.
And they have gotten results against two expensively assembled teams in the topflight.
Morgan Mammila believes that Chippa United are a force to be reckoned with and that they are ready to upset the apple cart in the PSL this season.
CHIPPA UNITED READY FOR SUNDOWNS
On Saturday, Chippa United’s next game is against Mamelodi Sundowns, the defending champions. It’ll be a tough test for the Eastern Cape side, but Mammila is confident his team can get a result.
“Let them come. We’re waiting for them. The fixture says that we have to play three top teams in a matter of five games,” Mammila told SuperSport TV.
“They’re next, they will get the same thing. No parking of the bus, pound to pound.
“I don’t care who you are, we’re equal here.”
