Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has addressed the reports linking Malawian international Gabadinho Mhango to the Soweto giants ahead of the new season.

Bobby Motaung reiterated Chiefs’ coach Molefi Ntseki’s remarks that the club is not yet done in the current transfer window.

The Chiefs football manager went as far as revealing that the club is eager to sign a striker before the new campaign starts.

However, he stated that the striker Chiefs are looking to sign is not Mhango, whose future with AmaZulu FC is unclear following the arrival of new coach Pablo Franco Martin.

FARPost stated that a transfer fee had been agreed upon between Chiefs and AmaZulu, with Mhango set to complete his medical sometime next week.

Motaung declared that Amakhosi want to strengthen their attack, and an announcement is imminent.

“Kaizer Junior deals with the names. I deal with the team, the whole team – the football environment,” he said.

“But not Gabadinho Mhango, but we’re trying to beef up our striking force. We have two injuries, and three injuries in the striking department, so we’re trying to beef up. Not Gabadinho Mhango, but Kaizer Jnr will announce.”
