Following the departure of Luvuyo Memela after just one season at Richards Bay FC, his former teammate Ntsikelelo Nyauza could join the exodus.
The club has already fired the entire technical team of head coach Vasili Manousakis, his assistants Pitso Dladla and Ronnie Gabriel.
This comes after Richards Bay finished their first season in SA’s topflight three points above the PSL Promotion/Relegation place.
Luvuyo Memela confirmed that he has left Richards Bay a year after joining the club as a marquee signing from AmaZulu FC, where he had a great 2021/22 season.
He had scored eight goals and provided four assists in 26 DStv Premiership games at Usuthu. However, at Richards Bay, he struggled to replicate that same form as he failed to find the back of the net in 24 league games.
The ex-Orlando Pirates winger has already bid farewell to the KwaZulu-Natal side. “Thank you to Richards Bay for the opportunity,” he said.
“It was an honour to have represented the club with all the ups and down but we still manage to achieve our goal as a team. Wishing the team all the best. Thank you.”
With Memela reportedly back home in the Western Cape for the off-season as the search for a new club starts, Nyauza is said to be the next man to be released at Richards Bay.

Nyauza, who is a former teammate of Memela at both Richards Bay and Pirates did not make an impact as expected.
As one of the highest-paid and most experienced players at the club, his performances left a lot to be desired. The defender featured in 22 matches for the KZN side in the just-ended season.
It remains unclear as to why Richards Bay released the ex-Pirates duo but it has been reported that the club is struggling financially.
