Golden Arrows attacker Pule Mmodi is reportedly set to join Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new PSL season.
Mmodi, who has been at Arrows since 2020 has been heavily linked with a move away from the KZN side.
It appears that his destination will be Amakhosi, who are beefing up their squad for the upcoming campaign.
The 30-year-old was highly regarded when he joined Arrows when second-tier league side Uthongathi. And he has not disappointed in Abafana Bes’thende colours.
PULE MMODI WAS A TOP PERFORMER
In the just-ended season, the left winger missed only one game, making 29 DStv Premiership appearances. He was one of the club’s top performers with six goals and three assists.
However, his stay at Arrows has come to an end as his contract expired on 30 June. He will join Chiefs on a free transfer.
Amakhosi had to fight out rivals Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu FC to Mmodi’s signature as both clubs were interested in the player’s services.
Mmodi had been on Chiefs’ wishlist since June 2022 but Arrows and the Soweto giants could not agree on the figures despite the player stating that he wants to “move on” and join the Glamour Boys.

“I never supported them [Chiefs] growing up, I never supported any team. But I’m attracted to Chiefs as it’s a good team for me. I can be one of them,” once said Mmodi.
Another midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane is already on his way to Chiefs who have so far signed two defenders Given Msimango, from TS Galaxy and Thatayaone Dithlokwe of SuperSport United.
TROPHY DROUGHT
Chiefs have been one of the busiest teams in the market following a poor 2022/23 season under coach Arthur Zwane. The club extended its trophy drought to eight years.
They also failed to qualify for the CAF inter-club competition as the Soweto outfit finished the campaign in fifth place.
The club is reportedly also looking for a new coach with Zwane set to be demoted
