Pitso Mosimane’s love affair with the Gulf region continues as the South African coach has landed a new job in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The appointment comes a few days after Mosimane dumped Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli; a club he promoted from the second division to Saudi Pro League with a game to spare last campaign.

On Saturday evening just before midnight, Mosimane was unveiled as the new head coach of Al Wahda FC in Pro League.

Mosimane joins Wahda FC

Mosimane joins Wahda FC after ending his relationship with Ahli due to non-payment issues. However, the coach said he was looking for a new challenge and did not entertain reports that Ahli didn’t pay for four months.

He is likely to start his new job with his trusted technical team of Musi Matlaba, Kabelo Rangoaga, Kyle Solomon, and Maahier Davids.

“Al Wahda announces the completion of contracting procedure with Mr Pitso Mosimane in order to technically lead the first team,” reads the club’s statement.

“The club’s board of directors welcomed Mosimane to the home of the champions. Wishing him success in meeting the aspirations of the club’s leadership management and it’s fans.”

The duration of Pitso Mosimane’s new contract

The duration of Pitso Mosimane’s new contract was not revealed but he will be expected to lead the club to the promise land by winning trophies.

Al Wahda has clinched four UAE Po League titles, but the club hasn’t won one since the 2009/10 season.

And with Mosimane having an impressive CV with 19 trophies, including three CAF Champions League, all eyes will be on him to end Wahda’s league end drought.
