A PSL club has confirmed interest in the services of Phathutshedzo Nange, who is on his way out of Kaizer Chiefs.
Nange is out of contract at the end of June and will not renew his deal at the club.
This season, he has been restricted to just five appearances. However, that has not stopped PSL clubs from pursuing him.
SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has revealed that Coach Gavin Hunt is an admirer of the player.
Nange and Hunt worked together at Bidvest Wits and Chiefs. In fact, Nange’s best spell at Amakhosi was under Hunt.
“Yes, but I need to know that he [Phathutshedzo Nange] is free because sometimes he’s free, sometimes he’s not free,” said Matthews.
“So if Nange is a player that is free and we can agree on terms with him, he’s definitely someone who is interesting for us.
“Gavin [Hunt] has worked with him [at Bidvest Wits before]. He likes him.”

He, however, admitted that the stumbling block could be his package. Matthews said they would unlikely match what Chiefs were paying the former Black Leopards midfielder.
“I can’t pay him anywhere near his current package, he and his agent are aware.
“I gave them a couple of weeks to give it some thought about what the kind of levels will be. But I believe Chiefs might still have an option on extending him.
“It’s him and Kaizer Chiefs, then him and his agent deciding on the kind of level they are prepared to take,” he added.
