Tanzania club Azam FC have reportedly tabled an offer for a red-hot South African forward ahead of the July transfer window.

Azam FC has already started making plans for next season, with the 2022/23 Tanzania Mainland Premier League title in the firm grasp of Young Africans.

A South African striker is on their list of targets for the next transfer window. Interestingly, no South African has ever played in the Tanzania topflight.

AZAM HAS OFFERED A LUCRATIVE DEAL

According to SN24 sources, the cash-rich Azam has offered Marumo Gallants forward Ranga Chivaviro a lucrative deal.

“Azam saw him in the CAF Confederation Cup, and they have been following him. They’ve sent an offer to the agency that manages him. So there are ongoing talks, although Marumo Gallants have the option to extend his contract by a year,” the source told S24.

Having scored 14 goals this season in all competitions, Gallants would be eager to trigger the one-year option on his contract.

Marumo is reportedly aware of interest in the player from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tanzania and locally.

They are doing everything to keep the marksman for next season.

However, it is expected that the player would require a much more improved deal if he is to stay at the club.

The big striker has proven his mettle on the continent, with five goals coming from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Marumo is currently in the quarterfinals of the CAF Competition. In the DStv Premiership, he has also been in sensational form, scoring nine goals in his first season with Marumo.

The 30-year-old has previously played outside the country. He spent a season at Klubi Futbollistik Trepça ’89, in Mitrovica, Kosovo. The club plays in the Super League of the Southeast European country.

After a year overseas, he returned to join Venda Academy on a short-term deal.

His club sits in 13th place on the DStv Premiership standings after collecting 28 points.

They are still unsafe from the chop, as 16th-placed Maritzburg United are just four points ahead of them.
