A new agency has signed up 35-year-old striker Thamsanqa Gabuza with a SuperSport United exit looming.
Mike Makaab’s Prosport International announced that the former Orlando Pirates forward was now their client on Saturday, 15 April 2023.
The agency also manages the likes of Andile Jali and Manqoba Mngqithi, who are both headed for the exit at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The news comes when Thamsanqa Gabuza has played a bit-part role at SuperSport United under Gavin Hunt this season. At one point, the chatty forward played as a centre-back in their Nedbank Cup tie against third-tier side Dondol Stars.
Matsatsantsa lost that match as Dondol Stars went all the way to the quarterfinal, where Pirates knocked them out after the dreaded penalty shootout.
Makaab is in talks with a DStv Premiership club over
Indications are that Makaab is in talks with a DStv Premiership club that is eager to sign Gabuza at the end of the season.
“Stellenbosch is interested in him, and there is a possibility he could be headed there,” a source close to the player said.
Interestingly, Thamsanqa Gabuza came close to joining the Winelands outfit in the January transfer window, but the move fell through.
Another of Makaab’s clients, Jali, is also on the club’s radar, with his exit from Sundowns imminent.
The 33-year-old has yet to set foot at Chloorkop since his suspension in February, and Makaab has revealed that they will soon finalise his exit from the club.

Gabuza and Jali played together at Pirates and are known to be close friends outside of football.
The Ladysmith-born forward, Gabuza, once claimed Pirates Chairman Irvin Khoza was his ‘agent’ who facilitated his move to SuperSport.
In 113 games, Gabuza has notched 22 goals, providing seven assists for SuperSport. Hunt will be hoping the striker helps his cause to finish second in the league and qualify for a CAF Champions League spot.
