Former TS Galaxy head coach Owen Da Gama has revealed the circumstances surrounding his departure from the club in 2021. While the club attributed his exit to a series of poor results, Da Gama has revealed that disagreements unrelated to on-field performance played a significant role.

Da Gama, who joined TS Galaxy in January 2021, guided the team to a respectable position in the league. However, challenges arose in the following season, leading to the appointment of Sead Ramovic.

The ‘Rubberdol’ explained that his departure from TS Galaxy stemmed from disagreements unrelated to football matters. He further revealed that the arrival of Ramovic contributed to his exit, as Ramovic was initially intended to join his coaching staff.

Nevertheless, he faced challenges in the second season due to Galaxy and internal issues.

WHY OWEN DA GAMA LEFT TS GALAXY

“With TS Galaxy, when I got there, they were at the bottom of the log, and I then took them to number eight on the table. So, the next season, there were a few problems within the team. There were disagreements that had nothing to do with football,” said Da Gama, who is now the new Magesi FC head coach.

“It was disagreements in other aspects of the game, including the incoming of Sead Ramovic. He was supposed to come in as my assistant coach, but I had Shaun Bartlett there, and I had other people there. I just wanted them to wait a little bit.

“But at TS Galaxy, I think I did well apart from the second season when there were some issues. However, I must say Tim Sukazi treated me with the greatest respect during my time there.”
