TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic playfully teased his rival Rulani Mokwena after being linked with a move to Raja Club Athletic, a potential career move that would reignite their professional rivalry.
Mokwena recently left Mamelodi Sundowns to helm Wydad Club Athletic, aiming to revitalise the Moroccan football giant. While Wydad finished fifth in the 2023/24 season, their Casablanca rivals Raja secured an unbeaten Botola Pro victory under Josef Zinnbauer, even clinching a double by defeating AS FAR in the Throne Cup final.
However, the former Orlando Pirates coach has garnered interest from Saudi Arabia and is reportedly nearing a deal with Al-Wehda.
With Zinnbauer expected to leave Raja Club Athletic, the team has reportedly shortlisted Ramovic as a potential successor. This move could reignite the professional rivalry between the Serbian coach and Mokwena, adding another layer of intrigue to the Moroccan football scene.
WHAT SEAD RAMOVIC SAID ABOUT RULANI MOKWENA
“I think I should not leave because I heard the interview from my special friend Rulani [Mokwena], that the players started to cry, the kids cried and the wives also cried,” he said.
He was speaking after The Rockets played a 2-2 draw against Mbabanane Swallows in the Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup. The match was played at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
“So I don’t want to leave because if I leave the players will probably also cry, the Sundowns players. And then the kids are crying and then the wives are crying.
“And I don’t want to do this, because they cried a lot because of Rulani.”

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has already said he would be open to letting Ramovic move if a better offer comes.
But Ramovic was reluctant to discuss a potential move to North Africa, insisting he is content at Galaxy.
“I’m the head coach of this beautiful club, TS Galaxy and this is the whole focus, whole concentration, I’m not thinking at all about anything else,” he added.
“I’m here, I’m the coach of this great team. We want to improve, too, we want to get ready for the first game.”
