The 2023/24 Nedbank Cup is set to ignite with the highly anticipated round of 32 matches kicking off today, Tuesday, February 20th. 

Over the next six days, 32 teams will battle it out for a chance to progress to the next stage of the prestigious South African knockout tournament.

The opening day promises excitement as Nedbank Cup debutants NB La Masia face off against giants Mamelodi Sundowns at Dobsonville Stadium. Simultaneously, SuperSport United host Cape Town City at Lucas Moripe Stadium, setting the stage for a thrilling doubleheader. Both matches kick off at 7:00 PM.

The action continues on Wednesday with Highlands Park taking on Sekhukhune United in Johannesburg, while the University of Pretoria and Cape Town Spurs clash in Tshwane. Babina Noko reached last season’s final and will be out to go further and win it this time around.

Thursday brings the much-anticipated KZN Derby as AmaZulu FC locks horns with Royal AM at King Zwelithini Stadium. This promises to be a fiery encounter between local rivals.

Friday sees Lamontville Golden Arrows face TS Galaxy, while Stellenbosch FC host Pretoria Callies. The weekend promises further drama with nine more matches, including fascinating encounters between lower-division teams like FC Ravens and Spain FC, and D’ General versus Madridtas FC.

Orlando Pirates visit Crystal Lake FC in Mpumalanga, while JDR takes on Hungry Lion, with Richards bay locking horns with Polokwane City. The Buccaneers are the defending champions of the Nedbank and will look to start on a high note.

On Sunday, Paarl United from Cape Town visits Maritzburg United in Durban as Chippa United plays NC Professionals.
