Kaizer Chiefs are set to open contract extension negotiations with star winger Keagan Dolly in a bid to avoid a repeat of the recent saga surrounding Khama Billiat.
Dolly’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and Amakhosi are keen to tie him down to a new deal.
The 30-year-old has been a key player for Chiefs since joining the club in 2021. Chiefs are understandably keen to avoid a repeat of the situation that unfolded with Billiat in July.
The Zimbabwean international’s contract expired at the end of last season, but the club left it until too late, eventually leaving the club.
Chiefs are determined not to let the same thing happen with Dolly, and they have reportedly made their intentions clear. The club is confident that they can reach an agreement with the player, and they are hopeful that he will commit his future to them.
Dolly himself has said that he is happy at Chiefs and that he is open to the idea of extending his contract.

KEAGAN DOLLY DUE FOR NEW CONTRACT
The negotiations between Chiefs and Dolly are likely to continue for some time. However, the club is confident they can reach an agreement that will keep him at Naturena.
In addition to his obvious talent on the field, Dolly is also a popular figure among Kaizer Chiefs fans. He is seen as a role model for young players. Dolly is always willing to give his all to the team.Â
Dolly would have to shake off an ankle injury to return to playing and show his value to the team. He recently returned from a lengthy injury spell.
In 64 appearances for the Soweto giants, Dolly has scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists. That tally is more than his Mamelodi Sundowns total. At the Brazilians, he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 61 games.
