TS Galaxy set up a potentially exciting Carling Knockout Cup final with Stellenbosch FC after beating AmaZulu FC 3-2 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
Stellenbosch booked their place in the Carling Knockout Cup final after beating Richards Bay on Saturday. The final is slated on 16 December at the same venue.
Lehlohonolo Mojela thrust the Rockets ahead after two minutes of play and Higor Vidal doubled the scores from a penalty 25 minutes later.
Augustine Kwem reduced Usuthu’s deficit on the 76th minute. And all hopes of restoring parity appeared to have been dashed when Samir Nurkovic reduced the visitors two goal advantage in the referee’s optional time.
Moments later Sede Dion pulled another one back for Usuthu but that was not enough to help them force TS Galaxy into extra-time.
And that was all the Sead Ramović coached side needed to beat the battling Usuthu and clear their aisle into the coveted final.
HOW STELLENBOSCH REACHED THE FINAL
On Saturday, Devin Titus, Alain Oura and Antonio Van Wyk scored as Stellenbosch humbled Richards Bay in what turned out to be a one-sided affair.
This win was infact a massive achievement for Stellies as they reach final having failed to go beyond the semi-finals in all knockout competitions.
Interestingly, striker Iqraam Rayners walked away with another hefty R100 000 after winning the man of the match award for his sterling performances.

In this one, Titus drew first blood after 51minutes, with Oura doubling the scores 19 minutes later.
Antonio Van Wyk put the game well beyond Kaitano Tembo and his men as he rose from the bench to score on the 86th minute.
And with the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs watching from the stands, Stellies coach Steve Barrker believes its their chance to win some silverware.
“Obviously, some of the so-called more difficult oppositions aren’t there does create opportunity.
“But it’s still difficult to win any trophy but it does feel like it’s our destiny. But we can’t get ahead of ourselves. It is an opportunity,” Barker said.
He added:” We’ve played both teams and AmaZulu could be more of a home game for them with a bigger crowd and in terms of that it would be more difficult,” said Barker.
“They played us last week there, they’re playing today there. In two weeks time they play [a final] there. So, from that point of view, it would be challenging.”
