Njabulo Blom’s agent Rob Moore has defended his client who Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos said doesn’t have the right attitude.

Earlier this month, Broos slammed the St. Louis City midfielder, as he snubbed him when he picked the final squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The former Kaizer Chiefs man was in the provisional squad but missed out when it was trimmed.

Broos said he received inconsistent and conflicting information from the midfielder, who initially said he is unavailable for national duty due to injury.

The Belgian mentor added that the 23-year-old changed his stance upon his request for a medical report.

Broos also vented his disappointment at the how the MLS club handled communication around the player’s situation given he will probably need him for the Africa Cup of Nations finals and other assignments.

WHAT NJABULO BLOM’S AGENT SAID

Interestingly, agent Rob Moore believes the coach, Broos is not getting correct information about his client, Blom.

“It’s either Hugo Broos is not getting the right information regarding Njabulo Blom or he just doesn’t want him,” he told Metro FM.

“The club did medical testing and the medical opinion was that Njabulo must not worry because he would be fine by the time he was meant to go to Bafana camp.

“It’s hard for Blom to defend himself on the statements made by coach Broos if he cannot even have a meeting with the coach, so he can explain his side of the story.

“Maybe Blom is not one of the coach’s favourite players. But he should rather say Blom has got more to do to play for Bafana Bafana.

Moore added: “This all happened within a period of Monday to Wednesday and the club said that Blom doesn’t need a certificate because the nature of the injury was that he would be ok to play for Bafana.

“It’s not difficult to see the match in question and see that Njabulo injured his shoulder during that match and was taken off. Certainly, Njabulo Blom is not a liar.”
