In the just ended season, the Cape Town born star scored nine goals and provided 10 assists in 30 outings.
He helped his club finish eighth place. The 23-year-old star’s impressive performance throughout the season has not only earned him the admiration of fellow players and coaches but has also garnered the attention of football enthusiasts worldwide.

MISSING OUT ON THE BIG AWARD
The former South Africa youth international was also a nominee for the big award of the night on Wednesday. He was in the running for the Player of the Year accolade, competing against Daniel Stensson and Wessam Abou Ali.
The award, eventually won by Abou Ali, was given based on votes from fans. It was presented at the club’s end of season Gala Dinner.
Matthews joined the Uppsala-based side in August last year and has risen to become a vital cog in the team. In November 2018, Matthews signed for Germany giants Borussia Dortmund.
In January 2019, he was sent out to Utrecht on loan. He subsequently continued his career in Sweden. He spent two seasons at Varbergs BoIS FC before making a switch to Sirius.
Matthews has represented the country at Under 23 level, and awaits his senior national team debut.
