Lehlohonolo Seema has promised to make an immediate impact following his appointment as the new head coach of Sekhukhune United.
Seema joins the club after resigning as head coach of Polokwane City earlier this month.
The 43-year-old has a wealth of experience in South African football, having previously coached Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars.
He is expected to bring a more attacking style of play to Sekhukhune United, who have struggled to score goals in recent months.
Seema’s appointment comes after the club sacked Brandon Truter following a string of poor results.
Truter had been in charge of Sekhukhune United for over a year but needed help to guide the club to a top-four finish in the DStv Premiership last season.
The club also failed to progress in the MTN 8 final, falling off in the quarterfinal stage to Orlando Pirates. The Buccaneers pummelled them 5-0, which may have influenced management’s decision to sack him.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED’S AMBITIONS
Seema’s appointment is a sign of Sekhukhune United’s ambition to challenge for trophies in the coming seasons.
“I’m most appreciative of how the negotiations between my management team and the Club were handled respectably and candidly. There’s obviously a lot ahead of us, and therefore, I have to hit the ground running,” Seema told the club’s media.

The club has invested heavily in its squad recently, and Seema is expected to get the best out of his players.
He will be looking to make a quick impact on the team and hoping to lead Sekhukhune United to a successful season.
His first assignment will be in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, where they face RS Berkane of Morocco away. They are in Group D with Diables Noirs and Stade Malien.
Lehlohonolo Seema will be hoping to steer them beyond the competition’s group stages. He has the arsenal in his team to do so.
The Limpopo outfit has the experience of Kamohelo Mokotjo, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Daniel Cardoso, Nyiko Mobbie, Jamie Webber and Elias Mokwana.
