Two of Africa’s top women’s football clubs, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and SC Casablanca of Morocco, will lock horns in the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Kick-off is 19h00.
The match will be held at the Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly in Korhogo, Ivory Coast, and is expected to be a closely contested affair. The South Africans had an impeccable record, winning all four matches and scoring seven goals while conceding none.
Banyana Ba Style have enough arsenal in their locker to dispense the Casablanca-based outfit. Downs have several players who were part of the Africa Nations Cup for Women last year.
Goalkeeper Andile Dlamini is one of the best in the continent, with Bambanani Mbane in the mix. Kholosa Biyana, who sparkled at the FIFA Women’s World Cup recently, will look to dictate the pace in midfield.
WHO WILL BE CROWNED QUEENS OF AFRICA?
The two teams have met once before in the tournament, in the group stage, with Mamelodi Sundowns winning 1-0. However, SC Casablanca will seek to avenge that defeat and claim their first CAF Women’s Champions League title.

The final is expected to be a thrilling match between two evenly matched-teams. Both sides have strong attacking threats and are capable of scoring goals. However, Mamelodi Sundowns have a slight edge in experience, having reached the tournament’s final twice before.
The winner of the match will be crowned the queens of African women’s football and qualify for the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.
While Sporting Club Casablanca is a newcomer to the final, Sundowns will know it will be a tricky tie. The Moroccan side, formed in 2019, has made a massive impression at the competition.
Masandawana Ladies are the more experienced, but Sporting Club Casablanca have shown that they are not to be underestimated.
