In a heartwarming display love and respect, Pitso Mosimane has extended words of encouragement to his former striker Katlego Mphela as he ventures into a new chapter of his life as a salesman.

Mphela took to social media on his official instagram account a few days ago to announce that he is now in retail as a VW car salesman.

The 38-year-old received positive comments from the post, with Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs legend Siphiwe Tshabalala praising Mphela for finding a job after football.

“Good day ladies and gentlemen. For any brand new VW cars please contact me and I will be happy to assist. My numbers are on the flyer. Killer VW, ” said Mphela as he was announcing his new 9-5 job with a picture with details.

Mphela has since been praised by his former coach Mosimane for starting a new venture. Mosimane sent a message to Mphela on Metro FM after hearing that his former striker is on a new career path.

The renowned coach also emphasised the importance of pursuing a path that secures one’s family’s well-being. However, Mosimane encouraged Mphela to consider pursuing coaching as a career by firstly getting his coaching badges. Mosimane stated that he will help and guide Mphela along his coaching journey.

Mosimane shared the message during Mphela’a interview on Metro’s Sports Night Amplified. “Brilliant, brilliant idea. “Hopefully he’ll help us at the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools, during his part-time and he must go for soccer badges, coaching qualifications, he’s clever, he knows what to do. “He will come up like all those coaches, who are coaching like Morgan Gould, Dillon Sheppard, all those coaches who were part of football. He was part of football, but let him follow what he’s doing right now so that he can support his family and himself.

“With time, slowly, he must join the coaching qualifications and if he has trouble with that, I’m there to support him. He knows that he can just give me a call and we speak to Walter Steenbok, then he gets qualified like all these coaches, why not?

“Then he can have a career on the business side and the football side. A very good step that he has taken, he’s moved in the right direction and that’s what we want out of our ex-players,” concluded Mosimane, who coached Mphela at Sundowns and Bafana.

Katlego Mphela graced the fields for Jomo Cosmos, SuperSport United, Sundowns, Chiefs, and Royal Eagles in South Africa. He also played for Bafana Bafana and in France at Strasbourg. In response to Mosimane’s message, Mphela said: “I never expected this from coach Pitso, because I know he’ busy. “Obviously the things he said about me and our relationship, we’ve come a long way.”
