Vusumuzi Vilakazi has stepped down from his position as Chippa United’s technical director after just two months in the role.
The former Golden Arrows coach was appointed to the position in September but has now decided to resign.
Vilakazi’s resignation comes as a surprise, as he had only recently joined the club after leaving Golden Arrows.
He was expected to play a key role in the Chilli Boys’ technical team and development. It is not yet clear why Vilakazi has decided to part ways with Chippa.
He also resigned from Arrows before joining the Chilli Boys, citing ‘personal reasons’.
However, the club released a statement on Thursday evening, saying that they are surprised by the former Arrows’ coach’s decision to head out the exit door.
Vilakazi was on the bench with head coach Morgan Mammila in Chippa’s defeat to Cape Town City FC in a DStv Premiership on Tuesday, but just two days later, the club confirmed his departure.
