TS Galaxy has announced the signing of Puso Dithejane, one of Kaizer Chiefs’ budding products from the DStv Diski Challenge.

The DStv Premiership outfit, TS Galaxy did not reveal how much they paid to Kaizer Chiefs for his services as well as his contract details.

The 19-year-old defender had his contract terminated by the Soweto giants along with that of Unathi Mdaka.

Chiefs were initially looking to pocket R1.5 million for each player as compensation for the training and development provided to the player.

The Naturena-based side pegged the fee, which according to FIFA statutes is due to a club that contributes to the growth of a youth player between the age of 12 and 21.

WHY PUSO DITHEJANE LEFT KAIZER CHIEFS

Reports emerged last week that Chiefs had suspended several players from their Diski Challenge team for refusing to be used as ball-boys when the senior team played AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout round of 16.

However, in the case of Dithejane there were allegations of misconduct. The teenager is said to have poisoned a teammate in what was meant to be a prank and was also involved in an alleged theft incident.

In addition, Dithejane is said to have been one of those leading the players’ decision to refuse the instruction from their superiors.

And after being thrown into the wilderness, TS Galaxy were quick to lure him as they confirmed the signing on Monday evening.

“We are pleased to announce our signing of Puso Dithejane, who previously played for the Kaizer Chiefs DDC team. Welcome Home Young Rocket,” the club confirmed on Facebook.

Dithejane had been training with the Amakhosi’s first team and even had the opportunity to represent Bafana Bafana in the 2023 Cosafa Cup.

He will be hoping to take his game to the next level at The Rockets under the tutelage of Sead Ramovic.
